Google Android Tablet, not until July

News:

Your wait for the Google Android tablet just got longer, as we get to know that the device will be available for sale only in July. According to sources, though the device was ready to hit the stores in as early as May, Google had a change of mind and decided to tweak the device a bit before releasing it into the market. This is the reason behind the delay and now you would have to wait until July to get a first-hand feel of Google's first Android based tablet. Let us see if the last-minute tweaks also cover a revision of its price. If yes, do we give or take a few bucks from its current price? The Verge reveals that the Google tablet will have some changes in its design with a view to cutting down the price. The current price stands at Rs. 13,000 and Google is working closely with Asus to incorporate the changes which is expected to bring the price down. Down to what, is something we are yet to know.

A quick look at the device. The Google tablet will sport a 7-inch display with a sleek and stylish finish. Running on NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor coupled with the power of Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the device promises good speed and unparalleled operational efficacy. However, it's connectivity options may put off many as it does not have any. It provides only Wi-Fi connectivity. Having worked with other electronics giants like HTC and Samsung, this time around Google chose Asus, which boasted the MeMO ME370T tablet with similar specifications and pricing, early this year. And the list of new-tablets-in-the-making does not end here...there's Apple coming up with a 7.85 inch iPad which is also expected to fall under a similar price range. So if you want to wait beyond July to see what Apple has to offer, it's your call.
